Let’s create an entry level euro GvG guild
Original post
I have an idea for a guild. Or a proposition if you will, because if something will come out of this attempt, it will be by people with shared intentions collaborating, making mutual efforts.
I’ve played this game for four years, but I’m, as you could guess from the title, a PvP newbie. No experience other than RA and some AB, but I have some basic theoretical knowledge about GvG I guess, from browsing forums, reading guides and watching games. I want to get into GvG but I don’t want to join an existing guild, because most guilds are terrible - badly managed, disorganized and/or badly composed. And I actually want to create a guild. I made a half-hearted attempt to create a guild last summer, but nothing much happened. I realized beforehand it would be difficult to create a guild, and I was fully aware of that most people don’t really enjoy the process of building a guild, or even want to be around in that phase, but my attempt was just too half hearted and I didn’t have enough time. Well, I really enjoy that process, or at least the idea of it. Now I’m going to try to make this happen.
So.. what I have in mind is the birth of a mature entry level euro GvG guild that can develop to a really well managed, democratic and organized competitive guild. And by competitive I of course don’t mean raging, empty teen drama, disbanding and nonsense like that. I mean we patiently strive for exploring our potential, both individually and as a team, honestly and methodically, in an encouraging and communicative atmosphere.
I’m the one taking this initiative. And I can foresee that, when people hopefully start contacting me about this, I’ll probably be doing some communication coordination in that initial phase. I just want say that I don’t necessarily regard myself as a future guild leader or a gate keeper of some holy vision just because of this. If something promising will develop here, I’ll most likely not care about it more than anyone else. It will be everybody’s baby. And my stance on leadership is that the leader should be the person best fit for the role. If that’s me – fine. If it’s not – also fine.
I posted this recently. Not much beyond what I’ve said here, just a little background.
About me – old, male, Swedish, head set and vent/TS, warrior, bad engrish, most days a week. My view on builds – well, I haven’t played enough to develop a preference on builds based on experience, but I’ve always like balanced (from obsing). I believe balanced would be a good starting build to learn from, at least.
Btw, if something will develop here, I have two relatively experienced and nice players willing to be involved, helping with mentoring, guesting etc and a guild with Guild Hall (Warrior’s Isle) we can use for now.
Update
We’re now close to full guild, most of us have previous experience from GvG. Although not definite yet, we have a build and roles are settling.
What we’re looking for, as suggested above:- Active and able to play regularly.
- Mature, communicative, willing to learn.
- Vent.
Previous experience from GvG is a plus but not a requirement. Age, sex and nationality doesn’t matter, preferable euro though.
